Grabbing a moment to yourself at this time of year can be a little tricky at the best of times. So last weekend, keen to make the most of all things festive, I booked into a christmas wreath making class at Lucy Macnicoll floral design in Harrogate.
With my Mum keen to join in the festive fun too (and the perfect way to spend some quality time together) we arrived to a wonderfully warm welcome. There was the scent of fresh flowers in the air, a plate of delicious mince pies to enjoy and the obligatory michael bublé playing in the background... Christmas had arrived!
With heaps of fresh ferns, berries in abundance and dried fruits at the ready, we set about crafting our decorative wreaths using fresh moss and wire to create the structure. Lucy and her team were amazingly helpful and on hand to find the perfect sprig of fern to fill out the design, spritz pine cones with glittered snow and serve festive fizz to add to the experience. And the final result? A collection of beautifully unique wreaths each with their own personality, ready to adorn our doors at home for the festive season. Perfect!

Opting for a nordic theme (hygge - is my favourite interior trend at the moment), I used a variety of ferns to add depth and texture to the arrangement, whilst jewel-like berries, dried apples and lotus heads added a pop of colour.
